What Hasn’t Changed

The team is the same. The technicians you’ve trusted — the ones who know your car, who’ve tracked its history, who diagnosed the fault that stumped three other shops — are still here. RhineWest’s average team tenure is 11 years, with some members going back over three decades. Premier1 acquired RhineWest because of the expertise and reputation David Greenwood built over 45 years, not in spite of it. Preserving that is the whole point.

The equipment is the same. We still operate BMW’s ISPINext factory diagnostic platform — the same live-connected system we’ve run since 2009, when we became only the second independent shop in the United States to invest in BMW’s ISIS system. The XENTRY, ODIS, and PIWIS platforms for Mercedes, Audi/VW, and Porsche remain in place. Nothing about our technical capability has changed.

The focus is the same. RhineWest was built as a European specialist and it will remain one. BMW has been our primary focus since David opened the shop in October 1980, and that isn’t changing.

What Has Changed — And Why It’s Good

Premier1 Auto Care brings resources and infrastructure that genuinely benefit RhineWest customers.

Extended warranty coverage. Repairs performed at RhineWest now carry Premier1’s extended warranty — parts and labor coverage that goes beyond what an independent shop can typically offer, and that’s honored across Premier1’s network.

Enhanced amenities. Loaner vehicle availability, shuttle service, a more comfortable customer experience — these are the kinds of investments that are easier to make as part of a larger organization.

Expanded capabilities. Being part of Premier1 gives RhineWest access to a broader parts network, more purchasing leverage for OEM and OEM-equivalent parts, and operational support that lets our technicians focus on what they do best.

Continued investment. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, and Volkswagen keep advancing their technology. Staying current with factory diagnostic hardware and software requires ongoing investment. Premier1’s backing ensures RhineWest will continue to make those investments.

A Note on the History

David Greenwood started his automotive career in 1968 and opened RhineWest in October 1980. For 45 years, this shop has been one of the most respected independent BMW specialists in the country — a reputation built repair by repair, customer by customer, on a foundation of technical honesty and genuine expertise.

Premier1’s acquisition of RhineWest is a recognition of that legacy, not a replacement of it. We are proud of what David built and deeply committed to honoring it. If you’ve been a RhineWest customer for years, we hope you’ll give us the opportunity to earn your continued trust. If you’re new to us, you’re joining a shop with 45 years of history behind every repair.

Same soul. Stronger backing.
